Hi! I’m Robyn and I’m here to teach you to feel good in your body & perform at your best.

Is tension or stress keeping you from living your best life?

Do you feel like your body is working against you?

It’s time for a new approach!

You’re not alone.

With a background as a classical musician, I found myself in a multitude of stressful situations on stage and beyond. I thought I had no control over my anxiousness or my body’s response to stress and tension. Arguably the worst part: the harder I tried, the further away my goals became.

After years of treating my body like it was an adversary to overcome, I finally gave up and decided to work with it instead. I began my own journey with body work and The Alexander Technique, going on to become a certified Alexander Technique teacher.

What I’ve learned through my own journey and helping a multitude of students is that releasing unwanted tension allows all of us to:

  • unblock the flow of creativity

  • learn more quickly

  • reduce stress

  • heal with more resilience and ease when things do go awry (and, they will, and that’s okay)

I teach people to feel good in their bodies and to perform their best: this work applies to every single body and is applicable to folks of all ages and vocations.

Let’s begin!

β€œThis work has had a much broader impact on my well-being than I could have anticipated. I am so grateful to have these tools which allow to instantly change how I feel, both physically and emotionally.”

Dr. Costa also approaches her teaching in a compassionate and non-judgmental way, ensuring you feel comfortable while studying with her. • β€œMaking one simple adjustment in bending dramatically improved my back pain after an afternoon of gardening! Robyn is patient and supportive with a personalized approach. I can't wait to continue another class with her!”

  • β€œWorking with Dr. Costa and the Alexander Technique was one of the most enlightening educational experiences I have had, putting me more in touch with the complex mechanics of my body.”

    - Brett P.

  • β€œI just want to give a little public acknowledgement to my dear friend, Robyn Dixon Costa. I was lucky to be able to spend about a week with her catching up and doing nerdy oboe things. She is a certified Alexander technique teacher. I’ve worked with her before in this capacity, but my mind was completely blown by what she was able to help me accomplish in my sound in about five minutes. If you have the chance to do any work with her, I HIGHLY recommend it. I look forward to seeing and working with you in the future, dear friend! β€οΈπŸŽΆβ€

Musicians: In 1:! sessions, we take a wholistic approach to releasing the patterns holding you back from becoming the artist you want to be.

  • I really like teaching small group classes of like minded people. Groups of three who have similar interests - maybe they are women in mid-life, maybe they are musicians, maybe they are actors or gardeners or seniors. Working together, supporting each other, creating a safe space to learn to trust and work with our individual bodies is transforming and fun.

  • Various classes happen throughout the year at the Centre Region Parks and Recreation  in State College and around Central, PA, so be on the lookout if you're local.

Hi! I’m Robyn.

I’m a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique, classically trained oboist, and enthusiast about wellness & stress relief. I teach people how to feel good in their bodies & perform at their best through practical workshops, masterclasses, and 1:1 sessions around the country & online.

β€œWhat has surprised me is realizing I can positively affect my mood with the mindfulness in which I carry and move my body. I am able to feel more confident by allowing my body to be present and take up more space. This has had a huge impact on how I approach situations and people.”
